', -, ASK, COMMENT, GROUP TELL, SAY, TELL, TELL GROUP, WHISPER
[Instant Command Set]
If you consider communicating with other beings, you might be understood
better if you start your sentences with either say, tell, whisper or ask.
Say is heard by everyone in your room, while the other three commands;
ask, tell and whisper, are only heard by the person who you are talking
to.
Examples:
> tell CryHavoc You're dead meat - sucker! [not advised]
> whisper thief Wanna teach me some illegal stuff?
> ask bilbo Have you found that ring yet?
> say Hi guys, lets go orc hunting?!
> comment duh gotta go AFK a sec, building on fire
NOTES:
- All commands except
'comment' (that can be abbreviated '-') are meant for In Character (IC)
communication. Communication
on player to player
level is held with the 'comment' command.
- Apostrophe (') is a shorter form of the say command.
- The outputs of say, whisper, ask and narrate
are influenced by the comprehension level of the language that is being
used, tell and emote are
not.
- The command 'tell group'
is a shortcut to send a message to all players (but not mobiles) that are
grouped with you. Note the messages are all sent after a delay equal to
the time that would take sending individual messages.
